No citizen of Ukraine could possibly watch indifferently the tragic events in Ukraine in the last month, especially those of the recent days. These events have no precedence in the modern history of Ukraine and it is truly difficult to comprehend their magnitude.

Our civic duty is to express our position. We, the Ukrainian diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, call on those able to influence the fate of our country and nation, to do everything possible to maintain peace and harmony in Ukraine, and prevent the recurrence of violence and bloodshed. For the sake of blessed memory of those, who died defending their right to a dignified and peaceful European future.

We strongly condemn any statements or actions that are intended to undermine the integrity of our country and the unity of the Ukrainian people.

We pledge to continue working, along with our fellow diplomats in other countries of the world, on building a free and independent Ukraine that is an integral part of.

We offer our sincere condolences to the families of those killed and share their sorrow

At the time, it is too difficult to express our sorrow words - it is too deep. These tragic days, our friend and colleague Andriy Chernenko was killed in Kyiv, who worked at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands in 2008-2012. Our hearts and thoughts today are with his family - his wife Elena and seven-months-old daughter Yana.
