The last straw has become the killing of dozens of Ukrainian military men in a transport aircraft near Luhansk, which was shot down with the use of modern Russian weaponry.

Strong feelings of the protesters were immediately abused by agents provocateurs to instigate actions that do not comply with established norms of diplomatic relations and protection of diplomatic missions.

The Ukrainian authorities responded immediately to the attempted provocations.

According to Ukraine’s law enforcement authorities, a few provocateurs were detained. The Government of Ukraine takes all necessary measures to make sure that the protest is peaceful and the diplomatic mission is secure.

At the same time, whether the situation in Ukraine becomes stable again depends on the Russian side's preparedness to stop supporting terrorists and to facilitate a peaceful settlement of the conflict in certain areas of the Eastern Ukraine.
