President Petro Poroshenko made a decision to proclaim January 15 the Day of Mourning for the people murdered by terrorists, first of all, for the civilians killed in a terrorist attack at a road checkpoint near Volnovakha on January 13.
"Pro-Russian terrorists have destroyed the civilian bus at the checkpoint with a rocket. They have fired at both Ukrainian military and Ukrainian civilians," Petro Poroshenko said.
The Head of State has stressed that Ukrainians shared the pain of the families of those killed and wounded. "Just as the world demonstrated in Paris, we demonstrate in Ukraine that we are not afraid of terrorists. We are united. One cannot intimidate Ukrainians!" the President noted.
In view of the declared mourning in Ukraine, a book of condolences for those killed will be opened at the Ukrainian Embassy on January 15th from 12:00 until 18.00 and on January 16th from 9:00 until 18:00. Everybody is welcome to visit the Embassy to sign the book.
