In spite of the made calls, people are still dying in eastern Ukraine. The biggest concern is the growing number of civilians killed by militants' shelling. On January 22, the mournful list of citizens of Ukraine - victims of cynical terrorist attacks, including the one near Volnovakha, has become longer due to the shelling of a trolley-bus in Donetsk.

The final number of casualties of this tragedy is still subject to determination, but the rise in frequency of shelling of public transport vehicles with peaceful civilians on board cannot fail to cause deep concern. One thing is clear: without active offensive operations by illegal armed groups, without their support from the Russian Federation by means of i.a. trafficking of heavy weapons into Ukraine, there would be no killed civilians.

Ukraine grieves deeply over every fallen and offers sincere condolences to their families and relatives. On our part, we are doing everything possible to avoid further casualties among the citizens of Ukraine. Every human life is priceless. An immediate and objective investigation of the crime must be performed and those guilty of it must be brought to justice.

With respect to the commitment to observe the boundary line, made one more time by the Russian Federation in the Berlin Statement of January 21, Ukraine calls on the Russian side to proceed to a full and immediate implementation of all the provisions of the Minsk documents of September 5 and 19.

The artillery must be silenced and the ceasefire must be restored.

Militants, Russian regular military units, and heavy weaponry must leave the territory of Ukraine.

Control over the state border of Ukraine must be restored.

Only these steps will bring back peace and security to the Donbass, will allow conducting a comprehensive and impartial investigation of all the killings, and will help save lives.
