On March 8-9, 2015 the delegation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine including Minister Oleksii Pavlenko and Deputy Minister Vladyslava Rutytska paid a working visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Within the framework of the visit the Ukrainian officials met with the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Ms. Liliane Ploumen, Minister for Agriculture Ms. Sharon Dijksma and took part in the roundtable with agribusiness companies-members of The Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW). The head of the Ukrainian delegation also had meetings with the top-managers of a number of Dutch companies operating in Ukraine, as well as the local Media representatives.
Along with a number of important agriculture-related issues on the agenda the Ukrainian delegation also informed the Dutch side about the political events and current state of socio-economic development in Ukraine, the results of the national reforms aimed at the comprehensive modernization of country and bringing its economic system into line with the today’s requirements, the Government's efforts to combat corruption, create a favorable investment climate, enhance foreign trade particularly in the light of the recently signed Ukraine-EU Association Agreement.
The visit resulted in a number of practical arrangements on further strengthening of the Ukrainian-Dutch cooperation, particularly in the agricultural sector, while identifying the bilateral priorities and practical steps for the short- and long-term perspective.
