The Ukrainian President had a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Unilever Paul Polman who is on a visit to Ukraine on the occasion of launching a new factory in Hostomel.
The Head of State congratulated leadership of Unilever on the decision to enter the Ukrainian market and called it a proof of successful reforms, particularly in the fight against corruption, deregulation and creation of an attractive investment climate.
“Emergence of British-Dutch investor in Ukraine is a good sign,” the President emphasized noting that it was the biggest investment project of the company since entering the Ukrainian market.
CEO of Unilever Paul Polman believes that “it is very timely right now to invest in Ukraine as potentially very attractive and promising market that shows economic growth”. He also thinks that Unilever's emergence in Ukraine will become a good example of successful business for other global companies and a “signal of trust in the Ukrainian reforms”.
Unilever enterprise (tea factory) is located in Hostomel and has an innovative production that follows “Zero waste to landfill” principle. The enterprise will fully control processing and recycling of all waste products ensuring that nothing will get to landfills.
