On December 18, the Embassy met with the Ukrainian community in the Netherlands. Chargé d'Affaires Nataliia Kolomiiets and Defense Attaché Yurii Herashchenko briefed the guests on the current security situation in the east of Ukraine and the political steps being taken to de-escalate along the border.
The importance of joint community action in responding to possible aggravation of the situation and maintaining international support in countering Russian aggression was stressed.
During the meeting, official gratitude was expressed to Igor Kyrychenko, Angelina Kucheruk, Ella Kalanska, Alina Lys, Vira Lutsenko, Lyudmila Lisovska, Hanna Fischuk, Ruslana Kuz for the support of Ukrainian servicemen receiving medical treatment in the Netherlands.
The results of the cultural and humanitarian events of the Embassy and the community in 2021 were discussed and summed up. Also, the joint activities for the next year were outlined.
In order to promote and popularize Ukrainian music, music editions donated by the Dumka Academic Choir and the Veryovka Choir for the benefit of Ukrainian choirs and music groups in the Netherlands were donated.
