Every year the Embassy of Ukraine together with the municipalities of Amersfoort and Leusden gathered on the occasion of the Remembrance and Reconciliation Day to commemorate those who lost their lives during the Second World War by laying flowers to the Monument to soldiers at the Rusthof cemetery in Leusden, where 865 prisoners of Kamp Amersfoort are buried, soldiers from Ukraine and other republics of former USSR.
There are no large scale commemorative events this year because of corona pandemic, however we honour the memory of those who lost their lives in WWII and the 75th anniversary of Kamp Amersfoort liberation by laying the wreath.
