On 16 January 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp visited Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine - Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held negotiations with Caspar Veldkamp.
“We believe in the principle of ‘peace through strength,’ and Ukraine must be at the negotiating table in the strongest possible position. The Netherlands will remain a reliable partner for Ukraine,” Caspar Veldkamp emphasized during his visit to Ukraine.
The Netherlands provides not only political and military support but also assists in restoring the energy sector. During the visit the Dutch Foreign Minister announced additional aid packages: €20 million for Ukraine's Energy Support Fund and €7 million through UCAP under NATO coordination.
