23 of September, an exhibition of works by a Ukrainian artist Olga Ottenheijm "Onmogelijk is Mogelijk" was opened at the Embassy.
The exhibition presents a series of works that represent the artist's first impression of visiting the Netherlands: In these works, the country appears as a fantastic, almost fairy-tale world, in which a balance is found between the comfort of people and respect and love for nature.
The exhibition presents a triptych on a black background, made in the manner of a classic Dutch still life. Foxes that go hunting at night, owls emerging from the darkness, and flowers. This motif can be found both in the Netherlands and in Ukraine.
A series of collage-style paintings with elements of Delft painting and portraits of the great artists Rembrandt and Rubens, coexist with cartoon characters, embodying the idea - the impossible is possible. The main idea of the paintings is a combination of history and innovation, openness to experimentation and preservation of the cultural code.
