On 8 March 2026, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, paid a visit to Ukraine.

In Kyiv, negotiations took place between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten, during which the leaders discussed the continuation of military support for Ukraine, joint weapons production and joint steps to bring Russia and all Russian war criminals to justice.

“The Netherlands have supported us since the first days of this war in many dimensions. This includes defence support and assistance to our energy sector,” noted the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Rob Jetten assured that the Netherlands will continue to actively support Ukraine in various areas.

Following the meeting, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Rob Jetten adopted the Joint Statement of Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands (https://www.president.gov.ua/en/news/spilna-deklaraciya-ukrayini-i-korolivstva-niderlandi-103293).

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko also held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten during his first visit to Ukraine.

The parties discussed further strengthening cooperation in the fields of defence, energy, economy and Ukraine’s European integration. Yulia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its significant support for Ukraine’s defence capabilities, as well as for the plan for long-term support for Ukraine in 2027-2029 with the allocation of 3 billion euros annually.

The visit of the new Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten to Ukraine, soon after the new Dutch Government took office, is an important and symbolic confirmation of the Netherlands’ continued support for Ukraine and a clear signal of the intention to further deepen cooperation between our countries.
