During a working visit to The Hague (the Kingdom of the Netherlands) Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuska participated in the Commemoration ceremony for the victims of flight MH17. The Ceremony took place near the National Monument MH17 in the Memorial Park of Vijfhuizen, close to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander, Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Minister of Justice and Security David van Weel, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kaspar Veldkamp, Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans, Attorney General of Australia Mark Dreyfus, Ex-Prime Minister Mark Rutte as well as foreign guests and relatives of the victims of flight MH17 attended the Ceremony. Relatives read out the names of their loved ones who died in the plane downing. All attendees honoured the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and symbolically laid sunflowers at the monument.
On behalf of Ukraine Denis Malyuska expressed his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all passengers and crew members.
Before the Commemoration ceremony Denis Malyuska met with Minister of Justice and Security of the Netherlands David van Weel. Both ministers noted that today commemorates tenth anniversary of the MH17 tragedy. Ten years ago flight MH17, from Amsterdam on its way to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down by Russian armed forces over the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region. At the time of the crash there were 298 people (283 passengers and 15 crew members) on board of the plane, none of them survived. David van Weel noted that Ukraine's contribution to the investigation of flight MH17 was invaluable.
The parties also expressed their readiness to continue bilateral cooperation. In particular, David van Weel assured that the Netherlands will continue supporting Ukraine. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of creating Special Tribunal to hold Russia accountable.
Denis Malyuska also had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp.
