On Sunday, November 28, a prayer service was held in Utrecht to commemorate the compatriots who died during the tragic times of the Holodomor of 1932-1933.
The Holodomor of 1932-1933 is the greatest crime against humanity committed in peacetime. The largest not only in terms of the number of dead, but also in terms of its cynicism and ruthless insidiousness.
Nataliia Kolomiiets, Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Netherlands: “Soviet Russia decided to commit genocide by destroying the peasantry as the basis of the Ukrainian people. That is, the Holodomor was to subdue not so much the peasants as a class but Ukrainians as a nation, to destroy our identity and dreams of freedom. This attack on Ukraine and Ukrainian values continues today. This is all the same war in various forms that the Russian Empire has been waging against Ukraine for almost four centuries, and of which we are witnesses and participants today. So, let's remember everyone who died in this war. Let us remember and honor the millions of compatriots who were starved to death just because they were Ukrainians."
We honor the memory and pray for the repose of the souls of millions of Ukrainians who became victims of the Holodomor.
